A statement from Hapag Lloyd issued on February 16th said that it had "signed an agreement with ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd… under which Hapag-Lloyd will acquire 100% of ZIM's shares for a consideration of USD 35.00 per share in cash. Although still below the Q4 2024 peak, costs remain structurally elevated, underpinned by labour intensity, energy pricing, and regulatory friction.
